Shamrock Smoothie

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

Are you feeling lucky???

Every St. Patrick's Day, I am inspired to make a green drink. Last year was green mimosas, but this year I was craving something a little healthier. This is not a typical Shamrock Shake, which is usually made with ice cream (although I might need to make one now... stay tuned!). Instead, this is a healthy green smoothie that everyone will love!

Whether you’re looking for a yummy green smoothie for yourself or want to make a special St. Patrick’s Day drink for your friends or family, this is a tasty, healthy treat!

Full of fiber, nutrients, and protein, this smoothie is a great start or end to the day. To make it really feel like a shamrock smoothie, I added peppermint extract – but feel free to omit it if you’d like. You could also top this with whipped cream to make it a special dessert drink, or add Bailey’s Irish Crème for an adult beverage!

I added a serving of protein powder to my smoothie to make it not only delicious but also well-rounded nutritionally.

Shamrock Smoothie

Makes 2 servings

Ingredients:

2 cups spinach

1 frozen banana

1 cup frozen berries (I used raspberries)

2 cups almond milk

½ tsp peppermint extract (substitute with vanilla if you would like)

1 - 2 servings of your favorite protein powder

¼ tsp cinnamon

Pinch salt

Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until ingredients are incorporated, about 1 minute. Enjoy!

Hi Morgen! It's just a hint of minty-ness - but you could always add more extract if you wanted to! 😊
